£7.95 Next day delivery took four days to arrive. No refund, and was blamed for not reading the fine print
I've been a loyal member for over 3 years now, and I would recommend their monthly subscription box. What I do not appreciate is the way I was mislead and treated by their shop and customer service.

As a loyal gold member, I could have gone with free delivery, but needed a bottle for a party urgently, so I paid £7.95 for next day delivery. Ordered on a Saturday before 1:30pm (criteria for same day dispatch), and received it on Wednesday, a day after I needed it.

I emailed customer service for a refund and it turned into a childish blame game. First royal mail was blamed, however it turns out that the parcel was only mailed on Monday evening.

Then I was blamed for not reading the FAQS, which mention that next day delivery could take longer. I'd be lenient for a day late, but two or more unacceptable if I'm paying £7.95 for it.

I'm without a refund and the customer service conversation had ended without a final reply from them. My rating would have been much lower if I was a new customer.

Be cautious of discount codes & preference settings
Tried a new subscription as I thought I had a voucher code that discounted the first 3boxes. The first order was discounted then just a few days later they charged me full price for another box, so be weary that the monthly date is set by them not you (also I had thought I'd set preferences to every 3 months anyway)
Not particularly helpful customer service as they didn't even bother to look into why only the first box had been discounted. I have cancelled and won't be using them again.
Be cautious of discount codes!

I like getting the different Gin each…
I like getting the different Gin each month. They come with lots of extras which I assume they pay nothing for as part of the exposure the company gets providing the products. None the less its a decent product and I look forward to receiving it. A little expensive but so it everything these days!

Craft gin club was great when I first…
Craft gin club was great when I first joined over 4 years ago but it has gone downhill fast. As the company has grown the quality of products has dropped. The gins are all no better than average these days and some are barely above the standard of Gordon's. The extras in the boxes used to be lovely - lots of new products for us to discover from smaller producers. These days they are all bigger brands that are available from supermarkets. We see the same old stuff every couple of months and rarely get to try anything new.

As the club has grown the reward points scheme for loyal customers has been cut to the point where it isn't worth it anymore. You can only redeem points on large purchases from the online shop now and the free delivery for gold members has been scrapped too.

Time to cancel my subscription - it isn't fun anymore or worth the money!

Edit: since posting my review I have cancelled my membership and craft gin club are attempting to get my review removed because it is critical of the way the company is operating - they are claiming I'm not a genuine customer and I have been required to send screenshots proving i'm genuine to trustpilot in order for this review to remain. Avoid this company and their bully boy tactics at all costs!!!!!!!!

Excellent
I’ve been with CGC for about 18 months. Boxes are great, very good value for money. Customer services are always quick to reply. I recently had to contact them as they had sent the wrong gin with a cocktail bundle, not only did they reply quickly and sent out the correct gin, they also told me I could keep the wrong gin for free! Excellent. Would highly recommend.

I unfortunately forgot my password and…
I unfortunately forgot my password and cannot access my account. The password is also that to my iCloud account so I am unable to obtain the ability to change my password. I have made Numerous requests to Customer service but have received absolutely no response. I have also made additional purchases on the site and am obviously unable to access them either. I regret the only option available now is through the legal channels which I really don’t want to pursue, but will if necessary

Matter was later resolved to my entire satisfaction.

Good gin, sneaky company
The gins are good, the boxes are good but the company is sly. They change the terms without notice.. if they’re doing something to generate revenue they’ll advertise it a lot but when they remove benefits they do it sneakily without any notice. They removed and changed their rewards program without any notice to subscribers twice in 6 months. As much as I love the concept of the company, and did love the company.. I just can’t deal with the sneakiness.. it’s hard when you save up reward points to use on the very thing they remove.

Enjoyable boxes, poor customer service and communication
I have been a Craft Gin member since December 2020 and I do need to preface my review by saying that the boxes I have received have been enjoyable - especially the Christmas ones.

However, the customer service experience and TOTAL lack of communication with customers have left a very sour taste. I saw on my bank statement yesterday that I had been charged for a box, that I had not been reminded was arriving at all. I have since moved house as well, meaning that the box will be delivered to an address I no longer live at - simply because there are no reminder emails in place. For every other subscription I have, there is a reminder email that the payment is coming up, except for this one.

I contacted customer service who simply said that the box will be refused at my old address (there is no way they know this) and returned to the sender and then they can resend it out. This simply is not good enough. I have been charged £40 for a box I may not even ever receive, and was not given any reminders via email or text that the subscription cutoff date was coming.

I have canceled my subscription and will not be returning as a member - incredibly disappointed in the customer service and experience.

Customer Service is shocking!
Loved being a member, but when problems occur, no one listens or has any empathy. Have sent 2 emails asking for Trine who is Head of Customer Service to intervene, but no response. Disappointing.

Absolutely brilliant
I have been part of the craft gin club for around 6 months now and every month I get so excited to receive my box and see all the amazing things inside! The gins have all been amazing and in such lovely unique bottles and the mixers and snacks are also brilliant. The customer service is also absolutely outstanding. Had 2 issues, both down to Royal Mail and not Craft Gin Club, but when I have emailed customer services, they have responded the same day and been really lovely and immediately sent out a replacement box. I don’t think I’ve ever had better customer service anywhere. Can’t recommend enough!

Quick to take the money but slow to deliver!
Deliveries of the monthly gin boxes seem to get later and later. This month they took payment a day earlier than they are supposed to and 14 days later I’ve yet to receive a notification of when it will be delivered. It’s looking increasingly likely that delivery will be AFTER the big reveal, spoiling the surprise which is the whole point of getting the subscription box! When I emailed to chase up where my delivery is I was sent a very condescending email in return. My patience with Craft Gin Club is wearing rather thin!

Edited to add that my patience is a little thinner now this morning after receiving a spoiler email!

My daughter enrolled me in the craft…
My daughter enrolled me in the craft gin club for Xmas and I thought the gin was excellant so I continued to purchase the monthly deal and have not been disappointedI have drank gin since I was 18yrs and I m still drinking it at the ripe old age of 83yrs I have never drank any other spirit.I have 3 gins and lemonade each day at 4.30 and have done all my life my neighbours always no the time as they hear me putting the ice in my glass once again keep up the excellant choice of GINS

That magical time of the month
I’ve had craft gin club for about a year now and would highly recommend it to anyone who’s interested in gin. Opening the box is maybe the most magical time of the month.

I’ve liked all the gin over the last year and loved about 10/12. They variety of styles and geographies has been stunning. The variety of snacks and mixers each month are great.

My only criticisms so far are:
- There’s a lot of fluff around some things I don’t understand - like other reviews I’ve seen I don’t understand the Philip Schofield advertising. Maybe they could promote people who work in the industry more and really know what they’re talking about? Or at least don’t do adverts for other well known brands…?
- Although the cocktail of the month is usually very easy to make, they usually push a cocktail with a syrup and I always find them horribly sweet and sugary.

Despite these points, it’s definitely five stars from me and it’s the range of gins they deliver that does it for me!

Good gins but very sharp - nay unethical business practices. Avoid
Gin club deliveries were good but they send and charge you for stuff you don't want and then refuse to refund.

My wife and I have been members for a couple of years and during that time had some nice gins and mixers. The club deliveries are good value but the extras are eye watering prices. (£3.50 for 10 gms grapefruit slices!!)

The problem came when I tried to skip a 3 monthly delivery. They delayed it by 1 month only and then charged us and sent it with no warning. We said we didn't want this - please take it back. They said yes but only if we pay for insured return costs. It was very sharp business practice (and me not reading the small print somewhere I expect). We had hung on this long because we had built up points worth nearly £20 - which turned out to be useless anyway as they could only be applied to a very large order.
